What is the Easy Font Installer?
PC users receive The Easy Font Installer when downloading fonts. The Easy Font Installer automatically installs your new fonts and updates existing copies of Letterhead Fonts with new versions so you can begin using them right away. The Easy Font Installer does not require an internet connection to install the fonts nor does it contain any DRM protection.
Why do I need the Easy Font Installer?
The Easy Font Installer was created mainly to assist novice PC users with installing their new fonts. If you know how to install fonts, you don't really need the Easy Font Installer. But all its doing is placing the font files into the Fonts folder-- so advanced users are free to move or even delete the fonts afterward if they like. For the rest of us, it makes it painless to install new fonts and update existing copies. Try it, you might like it.
Does Easy Font Installer contain any DRM protection?
No, the Easy Font Installer is DRM-free. It does not require an internet connection or attempt to connect to any website. Although your name and account ID is encrypted into the font files, the fonts function like other OpenType fonts you may have. Easy Font Installer simply copies the DRM-free font files into the Windows\Fonts directory thereby allowing them to be used by any OpenType compatible application or font manager.
Is the Easy Font Installer available for Mac?
No, although it wouldn't be too difficult to create such an application. If we receive requests for this we will pursue it. But Font Book does make it quite easy to install new fonts.
