Arthur began his career hand-painting signs in his father's sign shop in Essex, England. Later when he began using the computer to produce signs, he was dissatisfied with the availability and quality of the existing fonts and therefore began digitizing the letter styles he painted by hand. Today, Arthur continues to produce both hand-lettered and computer assisted signs from his shop in Buckinghamshire, England.
