Top 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions Why is my order being rejected by the shopping cart?
Address Information not matching The most common cause of failed payment attempts is credit card information not matching what your card issuer has on file. It may be that you are indeed using the correct address, but perhaps because of a recent move or other change, the information no longer matches correctly. Letterhead Fonts uses a strict Address Verification System and all information must match. AVS Not Supported Some credit card issuers outside of the United States do not participate in the AVS (Address Verification System) and therefore cannot be verified in that manner. If this is the case, it will be necessary for us to verify you manually. Please contact us if you suspect this is the case. Incorrect Security Code Please ensure that you are typing the correct security code for the card being used. This code is 3 digits for Master Card and Visa and located on the reverse. American Express security codes are located on the front and consist of 4 digits. Card Issuer Restricting Internet Purchases Some credit card issuers place restrictions on internet purchases. Therefore, these cards may not be used to order fonts until you call them and request that the restriction be lifted. Error 9010 If you are receiving the error code 9010, you may be attempting to order from a country that we do not accept payment from. If you are attempting to order from within the US and you are receiving this error, please contact us right away. Anonymous Proxy For security purposes, any orders attempted using an anonymous proxy will fail. Too Many Attempts If your order fails repeatedly, your account will be blocked, in which case you will receive the message "Too Many Failed Payments". Please contact us for assistance with your order. Can I try the fonts before I buy? Yes, we have a handy TypeTester which allows you to type your own message using the fonts. When you're ready to purchase, just click on the "Download" button at the bottom. The font I want isn't on the custom package page.
Not all fonts qualify for a discounted price, therefore you may not see some fonts listed with the others on the custom package page. Usually, these are fonts that are new or more expensive. Check back often because the list can change. How do I download the fonts?
If you have not placed an order with us since 2007, your account must be verified before you may download the fonts. We will contact you by phone or email to verify your account. Once your account has been verified, subsequent orders will not be subject to any waiting. After you enter your payment information and agree to the license, you are presented with a page containing a download button for your fonts. To make things easier, all the fonts are packaged together inside of a .zip file. If you neglected to download your fonts after purchasing or something went wrong, you can login to your account and download them again. Click the "Download" button Click on the "Download" button and the process will begin. It may take up to 2 minutes for the .zip file to be created. During this time you will not see any confirmation. Clicking the download button again will consume your allotted downloads, so please be patient. Save the file to your Desktop Depending on your internet browser, you may or may not see a dialog window asking you where to save the .zip file. Choose to save the file to your Desktop. If you do not see any dialog window asking you where to save the file, but instead see only a "Downloads Finished" or similar confirmation, chances are good that the file was saved to your Desktop. Locate the saved file The file will be named something like: LHF_123456.zip. The numbers are your unique order number. Depending on your system configuration, you may or may not see the .zip extension at the end of the file. The file's icon can take on different appearances depending on the program you have chosen to open the file. For PC user's, the icon will likely appear as a yellow folder with a zipper on it or a yellow vise. For Mac users, the icon will likely be appear as a box. Follow the instructions for installing your fonts below. How do I install the fonts on my PC? ![]() How do I install the fonts on my Mac? Double click on the .zip package you saved from Letterhead Fonts. This will create a folder on your Desktop containing the font files. Double-click on the fonts to open the Suitcase utility. Click on the "Install" button to install the fonts. Why aren't the fonts showing up in my program? The program was open during installation Most programs must be closed when you install the fonts. If the fonts are not appearing the list, restart the program for the changes to take effect. Not looking for correct name All Letterhead fonts begin with the preface "LHF". This means that the Unlovable font is actually named "LHF Unlovable" and therefore would appear within the L's in alphabetical order. Fonts not installed correctly Please make sure that you have followed the instructions for installing the fonts and that you have properly extracted the fonts from the .zip package they came in. Attempting to place the .zip package itself into the Font folder will not install the fonts. They must be extracted first. A good test is to see if the fonts are available in WordPad (PC) or SimpleText (Mac). If the fonts appear there, then the fonts are installed correctly and the problem is something else. Program doesn't support Postscript OpenType fonts If your program is older (pre-2000), there is a chance that it cannot use Postscript OpenType fonts at all. Check the program compatibility chart. I've lost my fonts! Can you send them to me? IMPORTANT! Beginning January 2010, our font replacement service will end. This does not affect accounts created after 2007 since your fonts will always remain in your account. If you have an account, you may log in and download them again. If you have not placed an order with us since 2007, then you do not have an account and you will need to create one by making a new purchase. This will ensure that you will never lose the fonts again. It also helps compensate us for our time. After you have purchased a new font and created an account, please contact us with the order numbers and dates of the old orders, along with the names of the fonts you need replaced. Please understand that fonts no longer offered on the website cannot be replaced. Some of the old fonts have not been updated to OpenType format and therefore cannot be placed into your account. Please allow 24 hours for the fonts to appear in your account. We will contact you when they are ready to download. Where can I read your license agreement? To better understand the usage provisions, we have an easy to read License Overview. However, the entire End User License Agreement (EULA) that must be agreed to when purchasing can be read here. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need clarification. When do I receive the fonts? Verified accounts may download fonts immediately with no waiting. If you have not placed an order with us before, your account must be manually verified before you may download the fonts. During our regular working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm PST, all accounts are verified within 60 minutes. Please ensure that you provide accurate information when creating your account. Erroneous information may result in delays. Once your account has been verified, you will receive an email instructing you to login to your account and download the fonts. Future purchases will not encounter any delay. Do you offer any quantity discounts? Yes. Check out our popular 5 for $169 package where you choose any 5 fonts for only $33.80 each (even fonts that are regularly $49!) Additional fonts after 5 are also discounted, so the more you buy, the more you save. A few fonts don't qualify though-- usually new releases or premium fonts like Billhead.
